The tale of a locksmith, a daughter, and a dream that stuck
Back in ’89, when mullets were brave and mobile phones were bricks, a young bloke named Rob Damen started Tasmanian Mobile Locksmith with one van, one baby daughter, and a knack for solving tricky problems. He wasn’t chasing fortune or fame; he just wanted to help neighbours feel safe and get back inside when life locked them out.
What started as a simple mobile service around Hobart grew into a family tradition of reliability and craft. Rob’s daughter, Emma, grew up watching him at the workbench, and now she’s steering the ship with the same steady hands, only with better software and fewer paper invoices.
These days, our team’s a mix of veterans and young guns, all sharing the same pride in honest work. We’ve seen every jammed lock, snapped key, and break-in panic Southern Tasmania can throw our way, and we still show up with a smile and the right tools to put things right.

Rob, the original owner and founder of the business, is proud to continue working alongside the new owners, Daniel and Anthea, as the business moves into its next chapter.
With years of experience and a deep commitment to the customers and community he has built relationships with, Rob will continue providing the same exceptional locksmithing service, knowledge and care that customers have come to trust.
Daniel Arnold
Daniel is the new owner, alongside his wife Anthea, and brings with him a wealth of experience as a long-time qualified locksmith. He is passionate about continuing to learn, grow, and build on the strong foundations of the business.
What Daniel loves most about the business is its family-owned nature and the genuine relationships that come with it. He believes every customer interaction should feel personal, welcoming, and positive, and strives to make every encounter a great experience.
John Dunne
John has been at it for decades. If you need a deadlock fitted or a tricky job handled with care, he’s the bloke who makes it simple.
Tom
Tom is an experienced locksmith with a passion for master key systems and all things security-related. He has a strong work ethic, attention to detail and high standard of workmanship.

Aidan
Aidan is our mature-age apprentice and a true jack of all trades. With plenty of life experience and a hands-on approach to just about anything, he’s the kind of guy who loves learning how things work and figuring out how to make them work even better.
Anthea
Anthea is Daniel’s wife and proud co-owner of the business, helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Anthea manages all the accounts and administration and she takes pride in making sure our customers feel looked after from the moment they get in touch.
Together with Daniel, Anthea is a big part of what makes the business family-owned, friendly, and personal.
